Регулирование спроса/политика стабилизации
Регулирование уровня совокупного спроса при помощи средств фискальной и денежно-кредитной политики, направленной на сглаживание циклических колебаний экономической активности (см. Business cycle). Основная  цель  государственной  политики  стабилизации  (ее также называют антициклической политикой  (countercyclical policy)) - уравновешивание совокупного спроса, т.е. стимулирование его в случае роста безработицы и падения производства в периоды экономического спада или его сдерживание во избежание инфляции в периоды экономического подъема. Идеальным вариантом является ситуация, когда совокупный спрос увеличивается соответственно росту потенциального ВНП  (пунктирная линия на графике). Если бы государственным органам удалось правильно определить момент, когда необходимо делать инвестиционные вливания в экономику и в каких количествах или изымать средства из оборота, тогда циклические колебания можно было бы минимизировать. Проанализируем, как осуществляется политика стабилизации в период экономического спада. В точке 0 начинается спад экономической активности. Государственным структурам, однако, удается получить статистические данные, например, о росте темпов безработицычуть позже - в точке 1. При наличии достаточной информации, власти могут определить характер проблемы (точка 2) и запланировать соответствующие мероприятия, такие как сокращение налогов или увеличение государственных расходов (точка 3). В точке 4 согласованные меры начинают активно применяться, хотя требуется некоторое время (точка 5), чтобы они повлияли на потребление, инвестиции, импорт и т.д. (см. Multiplier). Если время выбрано неправильно, может оказаться, что меры государственной политики  начинают  действовать  в  момент,  когда  экономическая ситуация уже стала стабилизироваться, т.е. действия государства лишь усугубляют исходные колебания (кривая 1). При удачном выборе времени и величины денежных вливаний или изъятий результаты  оказываются  благоприятными,  и  государственным  властям удается стабилизировать экономическую ситуацию, т.е. смягчить спад или подъем (кривая 2). Регулирование совокупного спроса - одно из направлений макроэкономической политики государства наряду с политикой регулирования совокупного предложения и валютного курса.
